[We use Paypal an eBay company for our online transactions.
You don't need a Paypal account to purchase, you can use your
credit card, debit card and checks too!]
[ I use PayPal, an eBay company, as my payment processor
because they offer ideal security measures to protect customers
that purchase goods or services online. One of the features of
PayPal that I really like is that WeatherSig.com never receives
your credit card or bank account information. One of the most
effective ways to protect yourself from identity theft is to
keep your financial information private. PayPal enables you to
pay without sharing your financial information with sellers.
So many payment processors will transmit this information to
their merchants. I say: "the smaller number of people or
companies that know of your sensitive credit card or bank
account information, the decreased possibility of abuse of this
information: e.g. stolen credit card numbers, unauthorized
withdrawals from your bank account, etc." WeatherSig.com does
not need your credit card or bank account information - I just
need your billing/shipping address, name, and email address.
PayPal uses Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an
encryption key length of 128-bits (the strongest commercially
available encryption). All of the information that you provide
to PayPal will reside on a server that is heavily guarded both
electronically and physically. PayPal's servers are not directly
connected to the Internet and sit behind a secure electronic
firewall, so your private information is protected when
transmitted to PayPal and is available only to authorized PayPal
computers.
The use of PayPal also keeps my costs down because they charge
less per transaction than most other payment processors.
This is one of the reasons why WeatherSig is so inexpensive to
register. If you pay with your Paypal funds or a credit
card through Paypal, I can deliver your WeatherSig registration
key immediately after purchase. ]
[The signature is highly configurable, use the included
signature creator located in the settings screen to create new
signatures or edit existing signatures. You can right
click on each option and select fonts, colors, background color
add images and more. A real time preview of your signature
is available while working on your signatures. For
advanced users, you can also use any html or text editor, please see the section entitled "How do
I change colors?" in the WeatherSig help file for a detailed
explanation with pictures.]
[The weather data is gathered from NOAA.gov on the web at
http://www.noaa.gov.]
[Ahh the fun part! Fortune cookies are stored in text format
in the WeatherSig installation folder. So you can use your
favorite text editor. The filename is called COOKIES.TXT. You
can add as many cookies as you like but please make sure you use
ONE LINE PER COOKIE . So word wrap should be off when
editing to be safe. If you have a great set of cookies, send it
our way and we may add them to our next version!]
[Please make sure you have followed all the steps in the "How
do I use it guide" in the WeatherSig help file, specifically
this section that talks about this type of situation.]
[Please review the "How do I use it instructions" and also
the "Adding signature to email client" sections of the
WeatherSig help file, it's most likely that your email program
is not configured correctly to use the WeatherSig signatures.]
[Yes, we have included proxy support, most users will not
have to adjust the default settings, however we have included
proxy settings for advanced users.]
[Yes, you can have as many signatures as you like. It's
easy to switch signatures, just right click the WeatherSig tray
icon and select the new signature. Your default mail
client signature will automatically be updated to display your
new signature change]
[Weather Signature can work with any email client that
supports a file for a signature or external file in templates.
Some examples include Microsoft Mail (Windows Vista), Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook,
Mozilla Thunderbird, Eudora, PocoMail and TheBat]
[To use Weather Signature with Microsoft Outlook NOT Outlook
Express, you currently need to configure manually, thereafter
it's automated but it's really quite simple.
1.) First you need to change your WeatherSig signature
location to your Microsoft Outlook signatures folder. On
the WeatherSig signature settings tab replace the current Output
folder with your Outlook signatures folder.
C:\documents and settings\YourUserID\application data\microsoft\signatures\
Make sure you have the ending backslash for the folder path.
Save the settings screen and exit by pushing OK.
Note: On Windows ME/98 systems your signatures may be
located here: C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\microsoft\signatures\
2.) In Microsoft Outlook select Tools/Options/Mail
Format/Signatures. You should now see all the WeatherSig
generated signatures. Select the file called
SIG_ws_default.htm for Html (Color) signatures or the file
SIG_ws_text.txt for plain text signatures. Your now
finished and can select different signatures using the
WeatherSig tray menu..
If there are no signatures in Microsoft Outlook, check your
path to make sure it is correct and then press the WeatherSig
Create Sig button. Most mistakes are made by not adding
the ending backslash to the path or not replacing YourUserID
with your correct Windows login name . You can even try
browsing to your Output folder to see if there are any generated
signatures.]
[[ If you have un-installed Weather Signature and the
signatures are still in your email, then you still need to
delete it in your email clients signature settings. For Outlook
Express, delete the WeatherSig signature in Outlook Express
settings. In Outlook Express choose
Tools->Options->Signatures and delete the default signature
entitled WeatherSig. For all other mail clients, find your
signature settings and delete the WeatherSig signature ]
